The 325 Horsepower Monster

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.  Take for example, Greg Rice's "monster" motorcycle.  He built it, and he names it, and indeed it is a "Monster with a capital "M!"  How does one squeeze 325 ponies from a mere 93.4 cubic inches?  Not by finesse, by any means.  Turbo and nitrous-thats how!

Wiseco pistons reciprocating in Wiseco cylinders, sucking large volumes of air-fuel mix through a Mikuni carburetor, with boost provided by an Aero turbocharger.  That's the basic mechanics.  When the little handlebar button is pushed, a nitrous oxide system is triggered, supplying a large rush of additional fuel and oxidizer for maximum arm stretch.  As in, "If you can read this, whoever was on the back fell off."  A custom grind Evo Style bump stick makes the valves open and close exactly on time for best breathing.  S&S supplied the connecting rods, roller rockers, flywheels, and cases.

Once all those ponies exit the motor, they're relayed to the rear wheel via a 2000 6 speed left side drive transmission.  Sandy Kosman supplied the sprocket.  All the transmission gears have been back-cut for faster, more positive shifting, which is virtually a requirement when you're riding a monster.

A Greg's Custom Cycles Deepsickness front end does the steering.  This inverted hydraulic fork has 3.5" of travel and is air-regulated for preload.  The heavy duty scimitar style axle mount gives the Deepsicknessa very unique look.  The front tire is a Metzeler Marathon 130/90/16 mounted on a Greg's smoothie rim.

The rear tire and wheel assembly is approximately large and wide-a 325mm X 15 on a 12" wide rim.  The 325mm tire is a Mickey Thompson ET Street intended for use on four-wheeled vehicles.  It has no turn-lean radius.  It has a straight-line power transfer tire, pure and simple.  The front brake caliper is a RevTech/Russell, while the rear caliper is a GMA/Kosman item.  Grips are ness, modified by Greg, as are the mirrors.  Handlebars are Greg's "Wicked."  If you see Greg tooling up and down the Florida highway, don't challenge him to a race.  You'll either end up embarassed or get a speeding ticket.
